Madeleine McInnes-Smith is a contemporary artist who explores sociological constructs and human behavior in her art practice. She investigates the subjectivity of her own self and that which an audience can bring to a work. She is especially vocal about her fascination of viewing art through ones’ individual experience and the open-ended opportunities that can bring to further an artworks contextual depth. The mediums utilized within her practice are participatory installation and sculpture, often represented in a minimal aesthetic. Madeleine’s practice is a study of social norms and the everyday constructs that we so frequently overlook.
