Darcy Gilmore

(she, they)

As a multidisciplinary artist, Darcy Gilmore explores layered themes of cultural hybridity, estrangement and the body through paintings, photography and video works. This fusion of cultural and ethnic backgrounds influences Darcy’s identity as a ‘third culture kid’ and the work explores experiences of disconnection and internalised discrimination, as well as the feminine, otherness and the abject. Darcy aims to create works that are both provoking and intimate for a viewer.
