Charlotte Lanchester’s visual art practice explores a multidisciplinary approach to art therapy, incorporating installation, painting and mixed media as modes of inclusive sensory works that are accessible to all children and adults no matter their physical and cognitive abilities. Charlotte explores visual art activities developed specifically for individuals with Autism, Asperger Syndrome and other pervasive developmental disorders. Charlotte’s practice explores art activities that stimulate the five senses (whether individually or collectively) while additionally offering a holistic experience for an individual to gain a sense of control, mastery of their environment, or development in self-expression, self-awareness and self-esteem.
